Electric scooter battery.

The battery of an electric scooter is perhaps the most expensive and important part. If it's time for your x3 to replace the battery, the following guidelines will help you choose the best battery.

How do you know when it's time to change the battery?

Owners of electric scooters and electric bicycles can travel for a long time, experience inconvenience and not understand, that its cause, - is a worn battery. It is possible to understand, that the matter is in it by a series of signs:

  • The vehicle travels less and less distance on a single battery charge;
  • The power of a scooter or a bicycle is greatly reduced, - before it easily took slides and long climbs, and now it is difficult to climb them;
  • Lighting devices, if any are built into the device, start to dimly glow or flash rapidly;
  • The device becomes less and less manageable.

To continue to use your vehicle comfortably, it is worth replacing the battery as soon as possible. You can buy it and do everything yourself or entrust it to specialists in the workshop.

Which battery to choose.

Today, lithium batteries are leaders in the battery market for electric scooters, mopeds and bicycles. In "second place" are lead-acid.

Lead acid batteries.

These are the most economical batteries for electrical devices. However, they have a number of disadvantages: they are heavy, have low power and are operated for a short time. And most importantly, they are less recyclable and therefore not eco-friendly.

Lithium batteries.

They are much more common. The choice is usually between lithium-ion and lithium-phosphorus batteries. A lithium-ion battery is fine, if you're not looking for extreme power and don't plan on using your device in the cold season. They can last about 1000 complete cycles from 0 to 100%.

Lithium-phosphorus (LiFePO4) batteries are a new round in battery evolution. They give from 5 to 10 thousand cycles, they can be stored for a long time without loss of capacity. Lithium-phosphorus batteries are more environmentally friendly and safer - if damaged, they can smoke, while lithium-ion batteries ignite. LiFePO4 batteries are useful for those, who continue to ride in the cold season, - they practically do not suffer from low temperatures. Its optimum is -30 … +50 degrees.
